Dee's Future, Hopes & Dreams
Dee's dreams for her Art
Dee's dream was to create artwork that people will love and want all over the United Kingdom. She wanted to create art that was to such a high enough standard that she would be requested to create commissions for clients that they would cherish.
When Dee started getting portrait requests, she was so surprised by the amount of support and kindness from people and she truly enjoyed creating these pieces of art for people.
Dee is still aiming to continue creating Equine & Animal Portraits for people and one day she would like to create portraits on a professional level, where she would be able to become a full time artist and not have to realy on help to manage through life as she does presently, however Dee also wants to focus on creating portraits from reference photographs of different wildlife and endangered animals and to then have prints made of the original pieces for customers to buy.
Dee thought of doing this when drawing her portraits and sharing them on hearing people say they would love a piece of art drawn by her, but they would never be able to afford an original piece. Dee's biggest aim is that her art can reach any household and not just those who are more privileged, she had the same problem herself when visiting art gallery shops and could never afford the piece she loved and she doesn't want to be unreachable to anyone, she wants to broaden her audience and subjects.
Dee started drawing amphibians in 2019 and she fell in love with creating portraits of them instantly. She felt that the huge differences of all the frogs she drew gave her so many different options that she could draw thousands and not one would be the same, their cheeky little faces each with a different colour, pattern and sizes made her so happy with every creation. Dees dream is for her froggy art to catch peoples eyes because its different, because its not your usual cute fluffy pup or kitten. Dee has a bit of a soft spot for the different and hopes in the future to expand her art further.
Dee's biggest dream involving her art, would be for something to come along that would involve working alongside or with someone or charity that work to help endangered and at risk animals, so she could help somehow to bring more awareness to them, maybe something lke sharing details on the back of each portrait, about the animal she's drawn and details of what makes them endangered or at risk.
Dee wants to draw endangered species of frogs, along with salamanders, newts, and other amphibians, plus other animals like endangered bats, pangolins, and reptiles, the more unusual animals, and she'd like to also draw rhinos, elephants, and your big cats to help as many animals as possible.
Dee would just love to get to work with different rescue organisations, it would be a dream come true for her, eventually creating pieces of art of the animals that are at risk by raising money with her art to give to the charities to support them.
Dee's Life Dreams & Hopes
Dee had a very different outlook for most of her life when she would dream about about her later years in life.
After Dee fell ill with cancer and a tumour 2007 little did she know at that time just how much it would change her whole future. The dreams of having a large family, a beautiful home and stables was gone, the joys of riding, hiking, rock climbing all taken away in the blink of an of eye. Because of this Dee had to sit and rethink all her dreams and what she hoped for in the future, not just for herself, but for her family too, but once she found art, her hopes and dreams that had been taken seemed just a little possible. Maybe not all of the things she'd of loved to of done, but some of them came closer to reality once again.
Dee has always dreamed of living in a little cottage out in countryside, miles away from anyone, away from the busy rat race of life, no neighbours on her doorstep, just a sea of fields, hills or mountains, as far as the eye can see, ehere shes surrounded by wildlife, flowers, her family and little dogs.
Dee still hopes this dream can happen and keeps that dream burning brightly in heart, refusing to give up on it. Dee and her fiance just love Scotland and the South of England, right on the borders in Northumberland, the England/Scotland border and they hope one day they'll live out in the countryside with their little dachshunds, either on the border or slightly over it.
She'd love to have a lovely little garden, where she can have a proper outdoor studio so no matter the weather she can go out and draw, a hot sunny day and she can have the studio doors open and have the outdoors right there with her while she draws, and on winter days she can watch the rain fall or enjoy the views blanketed in snow . She hopes she'll still be enjoying creating her art for people late into her senior years and will have helped built a comfortable life for herself and her family.
Although Dee is disabled she still has a huge love for motorbikes and though she could never ride her own anymore, she is able to sit on the back of her fiances bike and enjoy beautiful trips with their little miniature dachshund, visiting beautiful slices of countryside. She hopes this is something they will continue to do for sometime into the future and dreams of travelling not just the UK but riding to Germany, Italy, The Netherlands etc. so she can get top see many places as possible in life, painting pictures of her views as they travel. She hopes they'll get to travel to other countries abroad too, not necessarily on the bike, but to get to see beautiful white sanded beaches, the ocean, jungles and forests full of wildlife.
Dee has always had a love for photography, but never had the chance to get her own DSLR, however she hopes to get a good camera at some point in the future so she can take photographs of wildlife when out travelling and use her own reference photographs to create her art with rather than having to rely on using other peoles and the complications that can come with that.
When travelling Dee would love to travel to different animal sanctuaries that house and help the types of animals she draws and get photographs of the animals so she can return home and draw from them. Its a way to keep her memories there on paper and to then share with the world.
Dee knows her dreams are big, especially the last, however that wont stop Dee from trying. She was expected to leave this life in 2007 but beat her illness and the problems that followed against all the odds. The fact she was able to do this and go on to live an enjoyable life, though very different to what she'd dreamed of when younger, gives Dee the outlook on life that she has.
What is Art To Dee?
Art to Dee is so much more than just a hobby, its a huge part of life for her. It keeps her mind busy, her thoughts clear and happy and it brings her so much joy especially when bringing happiness to others too. Art and motorbikes are what brought Dee out of a very dark place where she could see nothing good for herself in her future anymore. Art gave her life colour and creativity and this made her smile again.
This is why Dee's dreams and hopes for the future are so important to her.
If Dee could give anyone advice who's struggling in life, it would be; Life is very fleeting, enjoy every moment of it with those that love you and make you smile.
Remove yourself from negative people, situations and things in life and keep your outlook bright and happy. Find hobbies that you enjoy and make them a part of your life.
Remember to smile everyday.
Listen to a happy song you love and sing out loud to it, music will lift any heavy heart.
Finally, fill your home with pictures of all that you love, and surround yourself with happiness.
Embracing Art is Good for the Heart xx
Love & best wishes in your life,
